Catamaran Sailing Trip

About the Route

Portisco Marina (Departure) → Caprera → Bonifacio (French island) with Lavezzi and Budelli → Isola Spargi and Porto Cervo → Portisco

The Sardinia-Corsica route is one of the most beautiful yachting routes not only in Italy, but throughout the entire Mediterranean: an amazing array of colors in the water, beautiful beaches, deserted islands, and easy bays, picturesque towns, and interesting stories to discover!

The closest airport is Olbia Airport in Sardinia.

Day 1. Saturday. Portisco
Meeting greeting: safety briefing.
If everybody arrives before 5 pm, sailing to one of the bays near Portisco (3 miles, 30 minutes).

Day 2. Sunday. Caprera
Sailing to La Maddalena Nature Reserve on Caprera Island (20 miles, 4 hours).
On the way – learning the sailing basics, bathing/sunbathing/lunching on board!
Anchored at Cala Garibaldi.

The island of Caprera is renowned for its stunning beaches and for the house of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the renowned Italian commander who spent his final years on the island. From Mount Tejalone there is a stunning view of the La Maddalena archipelago, Sardinia.

Day 3. Monday. Bonifacio
Sailing to Corsica, to the city of Bonifacio (20 miles, 4 hours).
On the way – a stop in one of the bays with clear water.
Parking at the marina in the city center.

Bonifacio Bay is a fjord among limestone cliffs 75 meters high. Directly on these rocks is the city of Bonifacio, the most colourful city of Corsica. It is sure to enjoy for those who love walking in old towns with narrow streets, stone houses, and fortresses.

Day 4. Tuesday. Lavezzi and Budelli
Sailing to the island of Lavezzi (8 miles, 1–1.5 hours).
Lunch at the anchored bay.

Budelli Island is very tiny, 1.6 km², but it is one of the most beautiful in the region. The peculiarity of the island is granite boulders, fancifully hewn with water, reminiscent of the Seychelles and Andaman Islands.

Due to its location in the strait and currents, lovers of swimming with a mask can see tuna and other fish. Beach lovers will be delighted with the white sand and clear emerald water.

Sailing to Budelli Island (7 miles, 1.5 hours).
Anchored near the island of Budelli or Santa Maria.

Day 5. Wednesday. Isola Spargi and Porto Cervo
Sailing to Isola Spargi (8 miles, 1.5 hours). Stop for swimming and lunch.

Spargi is a true uninhabited island; there are fewer human footprints than on Robinson Crusoe Island, and an amazing aroma of mastic and pistachio trees spreads in the air.

Exit at 15.00. Sailing to Porto Cervo (12 miles, 2.5 hours).
Parking in a fashionable marina.

Porto Cervo is one of the centers of the Costa Smeralna, and is famous as a holiday destination for celebrities and millionaires, as well as parking for luxury yachts.

Day 6. Thursday. Tavolara

Exit at 10.00. Sailing to Tavolara Island (17 miles, 3.5 hours).

On the way – stop for lunch and swimming.
Anchored at Spalmator Bay.

The small island of Tavolara is the center of the natural park, attracting sailors and lovers of mountain walks, offering to climb to 565 meters high on Mount Monte Canon.

Day 7. Friday. Portisco
In the morning we can climb Mount Monte Canone.
Then go to Portisco home marina (15 miles, 3 hours).
On the way there is a swimming stop on the islands and in Portisco Bay.

FAQ

No sailing experience is needed at all.
Professional skipper takes care of navigation and safety, so you can simply relax, enjoy the sea, and live the experience at your own pace.

The skipper is responsible for navigation, safety, and the smooth running of the trip.
They plan the route, monitor weather conditions, handle the catamaran, manage docking and anchoring, and ensure everyone on board feels safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

The skipper usually sleeps in a separate crew cabin, most often a small forepeak cabin or a dedicated crew area, depending on the catamaran layout. This keeps guest cabins private and ensures comfort for everyone on board.

Safety and comfort always come first.
If the weather changes, the skipper adjusts the route or timing, choosing sheltered bays or alternative stops so you can still enjoy a smooth, relaxed trip.

The hostess is an OPTIONAL addition, available if you would like extra comfort on board.
She takes care of breakfast preparation, light cleaning of shared areas, basic provisioning support, and helps create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, allowing you to fully enjoy your time on the catamaran.

Our typical catamarans have 4 double cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests.
